Celebrating the human form paired with animal heads, especially the jack rabbit, has been my favorite to explore lately. I’m inspired to paint the rabbit as a symbol of fertility. I’m also drawn to explore the Rococo style of painting as it supports feministic qualities of softness and beauty. In this particular series I illustrate stages of a woman’s life, from youthful years, to child bearing to maturing years of wisdom and grace. These works have been so successful, and incredibly enjoyable to paint I feel I will be painting the animal nudes until I’m tired of painting animal nudes! All 3 of these have been sold, thanks to Keep Contemporary in Santa Fe, and Art For The People Gallery in Austin , TX. Stay tuned for my deer series beginning to show this month.
